About Kenso

Kenso understands the training you already do — everywhere you do it — and shows you what it's producing. It is an intelligence layer over real training, not a workout builder and not a faster logbook.

Kenso is a strength training app for iOS that reads the training you are already doing. It imports your existing history, lets you choose how each lift progresses, follows you between gyms, coaches you through the session, and then reports what the training actually produced — strength by muscle group, program adherence and productive volume, and recovery.

How Kenso is different

vs. Program builders

They: Generate the workout for you, usually ignoring the training history you bring and prescribing a single way to progress.

Kenso: Reconstructs the program and progression from the history you already have, and lets you pick the progression method per exercise.

vs. Workout loggers

They: Record sets quickly, then leave interpretation to you — no progression logic, and no read on whether the program is working.

Kenso: Decides the next prescription, and reports what the training produced at the muscle, program, and recovery level.

What it does

How it works, in order

  1. Sign up and bring your training — import Hevy or Strong data and Kenso auto-creates a program and backfills history and progression. With no data, start from a standard template, import a plan by PDF or photo, or have AI build one.
  2. Pick a progression style — double progression, top set and back-off, 5/3/1, linear, pyramid and more. Configurable per exercise, or use Kenso's recommendation.
  3. Connect Apple Health — feeds daily readiness, training battery, and overall fatigue.
  4. Log workouts, location-aware — the app remembers how you train in each place, so a full gym uses barbell bench and home uses dumbbell bench, each following its own progression.
  5. Get coached during the session — swap exercises, change progression strategy, see lift history and workout volume, watch each muscle group approach productive weekly volume, and log RPE or RIR.
  6. See what the training produced — strength trends across muscle groups, which sets drive strength, where you are over- or under-reaching, PRs, estimated 1RM, strength standards, and a muscle map of missed growth areas.
  7. Check the program itself — adherence, workout frequency, and what sits in productive volume versus under it, scoped to that program.
  8. Check recovery — how recovered you are and which signals (HRV, resting heart rate, training fatigue) most affect your training, so you know when to adjust.
  9. Ask the AI coach — it reasons across workout, program, performance, and recovery data rather than acting as a generic chatbot.
